Introduction: Welcome to Techosa STEM Labs! This handbook provides important information and guidelines to help you navigate your journey through our STEM learning program. We are excited to have you join us and embark on an enriching experience filled with exploration and innovation. Let’s get started!

MISSION STATEMENT

Our mission is to educate and inspire the students , equipping them with the knowledge and skills needed to excel in the ever-evolving fields of STEM, and to cultivate a passion for lifelong learning and innovation. Through our dedicated efforts, we aim to contribute to India’s progress as a frontrunner in the realms of technology, creativity, and economic prosperity.

At Techosa STEM Lab, our vision is to ignite a transformative shift in India’s position as a global leader in innovative product development and manufacturing, ultimately driving accelerated economic growth. We strive to create an ecosystem that nurtures and empowers young minds, fostering a deep understanding of STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics) based education programs.

SEXUAL HARASSMENT

This, and any, type of harassment will not be tolerated. Students should report any incident of harassment to his/her teacher, counselor, or principal.

NEGLECT/ABUSE POLICY

Students should tell their teacher, guidance counselor, or other lab faculty  if they feel they are being neglected, hurt, or abused by someone or if they know a friend who is neglected or abused. Abuse Hotline number is 1-877-237-0026.

Lab Safety

Proper handling of equipment and materials:

  • Ensuring that you handle lab equipment and materials with care and caution.
  • Following instructions provided by the instructor regarding the proper usage and handling of specific equipment and materials.
  • Using appropriate safety gear, such as gloves or goggles, when necessary.
  • Notifying the instructor of any damaged or malfunctioning equipment.

Safety protocols and procedures:

  • Familiarizing yourself with the safety protocols and procedures specific to the lab environment.
  • Adhering to guidelines related to chemical handling, electrical safety, and potential hazards.
  • Understanding the proper storage and disposal of chemicals, substances, and waste materials.
  • Reporting any accidents, spills, or safety concerns to the instructor immediately.

Emergency preparedness:

  • Being aware of the location and proper use of emergency equipment, such as fire extinguishers, first aid kits, and emergency exits.
  • Understanding evacuation procedures and assembly points in case of emergencies.
  • Familiarizing yourself with emergency contact information, including the instructor’s contact details and any on-site emergency numbers.
  • Following instructions from the instructor or designated personnel in the event of an emergency.

Remember, lab safety is of utmost importance to ensure a secure and productive learning environment. By adhering to proper handling techniques, following safety protocols, and being prepared for emergencies, you can help maintain a safe and enjoyable experience in the lab.

Lab Etiquette

 

Respect for instructors and peers:

  • Demonstrating respect towards instructors by actively listening and following their instructions.
  • Valuing the opinions and ideas of your peers, treating them with courtesy and consideration.
  • Engaging in constructive and respectful communication during discussions or group activities.
  • Avoiding disruptive behavior that may hinder the learning environment or distract others.

Collaboration and teamwork:

  • Engaging in collaborative activities and projects with a positive attitude.
  • Actively participating and contributing to group discussions and tasks.
  • Respecting the perspectives and contributions of your teammates.
  • Practicing effective communication and actively listening to others’ ideas and suggestions.
  • Sharing responsibilities and working together to achieve common goals.

Cleanliness and organization:

  • Maintaining a clean and tidy workspace by organizing materials and equipment.
  • Properly storing and returning equipment and materials to their designated places.
  • Cleaning up any spills or messes promptly and reporting any maintenance issues.
  • Following guidelines for waste disposal, recycling, and proper handling of hazardous materials, if applicable.
  • Leaving the lab area in a clean and orderly condition for the next users.

By adhering to these principles of lab etiquette, you contribute to a positive and harmonious learning environment. Respectful interactions, effective collaboration, and maintaining cleanliness and organization help create an atmosphere conducive to learning, productivity, and mutual growth.
